SNOWBIRDS OVER ANDERSON

We are very proud to announce that once again, the Canadian Forces 431^st Air Demo Squadron, known worldwide as the Snowbirds, will perform over Anderson on May 13^th, 2009 at the Anderson Regional Airport.  This year, the Snowbirds will be joined by the United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team making it a truly international event.  

Innovate Anderson, the Anderson Regional Airport, the Anderson County Convention & Visitors Bureau and a local group of aviation activist are involved in making this free event possible.  They would like you to be an important part of this wonderful event.

The Snowbirds have been in existence for 38 years. Since their existence, they have performed in about 2,100 air shows.  During their 2009 season, they will be performing in 64 air shows in 40 different locations.  As a rule, the Snowbirds do not perform in the same location twice, but according to them, due to the hospitality they were shown and the amount of people that turned out for a mid-week show, they were willing to return to Anderson County.  Once again, Anderson is their only stop in South Carolina and one of only 10 stops in the United States.

The Golden Knights have been in existence for over 50 years.  They were officially recognized by the Army in 1961 as the U.S. Army Parachute Team.  Out of 41 appearances in their schedule for 2009, Anderson County is lucky to be one of only three shows in South Carolina where they will be performing.

The event will be a free-ticketed event for the public.  To make this happen, we need your support.  This will be a great way to show the community that you are interested in what’s happening in Anderson County.  There are different levels of sponsorship that are listed below.

The Chairman’s Club viewing area at the show is on the flight line affording sponsors excellent viewing of the air show.  Amenities include a delicious food and adult beverages in a beautifully landscaped setting.  The Chairman’s Club is ideal for entertaining your clients, friends, family or special guests in first-class style.

Your donation to become a member of the Chairman’s Club provides you with member and guest benefits as well as sponsorship support of the Snowbirds Over Anderson Air Show program.  All members will receive special recognition for their support.
